Kalamaki is 5 km from the city and is a remarkable tourist resort on the island. From there, the long beach of Laganas bay, 9 km long, with sand dunes, fine sand and shallow water begins.

The impressive beach, apart from the tourism industry of Zakynthos, is also an important biotope, as here is the sea turtle caretta caretta.

The Vassilikos peninsula is located on the southwest side of the island and is one of the most beautiful areas with lush vegetation, spectacular beaches and splendid views of the Peloponnese, especially during sunrise. Vassilikos is small and sparsely populated while it is 15 km from the capital.


Azuro Beach has crystal clear blue water for swimming, natural shade, easy access and is fully organized with many sun umbrellas and deck chairs on the golden sand or lawn.

At the bottom of the peninsula is the most beautiful beach on the island, the sandy beach of Gerakas, well guarded by the winds, with shallow blue water and one of the biggest in the turtles in the turtle bunch of kegs.
